Mine always comes loose when putting on my watch. I have to fold the extension back into the bracelet. For an S serial era Sub Date is this normal? Maybe you can take of the divers extension and change it for a normal link. I actually tried this first. Maybe you can take of the divers extension and change it for a normal link. I actually tried this first. The hollow middle links don't provide a good hold for the spring bar though so it mainly just flops around.
These older clasps can be adjusted by slight bending of the parts, over time they can loose their shape. You want to take the blue bend out and make it straighter like the red. This will make that piece slightly longer so it fits snugly with pin behind pin. The divers extension has side to side movement (approx 1mm) where it joins the bracelet, I have tried DaBaeker's suggestion of placing a screwdriver in the slot and twisting to spread it out, which it does but as soon as I take out the screwdriver it .
