My first post in the tube section .did a search here on the Luxman LV-103 (Alpine/Luxman here in Japan) and opinions weren't so conclusive on the LV line's performance. Reason I'm asking is that there is unit in a second hand store for about 0 which looks to be in very good cosmetic nick. The final review for the Luxman LV-103 (BRID Series).more. The 103u never made it to wide release in North America. The 105 was rated at 80 watts, while this amp was 55 to 60 watts. It used Mosfets in the output stage and tubes as a buffer in the preamp stage. The time I had the 103 was only 6 months. In 1984 Luxman stunned everyone by introducing a mass produced tube-MOSFET hybrid integrated amplifer, into a completely solid state dominated world of mainstream audio - the LV-103 [1st one was the LV-104?]. It was then followed with a tube hybrid CD player, the D-105.

Hi, just purchased a Luxman LV-103 tube/ss integrated amp. Late 80's or early 90's vintage. Love the sound, it uses two tubes in the preamp stage. Very detailed sound, more like tube amp than solid state. Anyone else have a Luxman hybrid? I'm real happy about it!
